What is the BCS?
Established in 1957, the British Computer Society (BCS) is the leading body for Information Technology (IT) professionals and those working in IT.
With a world-wide membership of over 60,000 in over 100 countries, BCS is the qualifying body for Chartered IT Professionals (CITP) and a Chartered Engineering Institution for IT.
Mission Statement
The BCS leads the development and implementation of standards for the IT profession through innovative and valued products and services and by being the respected voice informing and influencing individuals, organisations and society as a whole.
The BCS will lead the change in the standing of the IT profession by creating an understanding of what is required to implement successful IT projects and programmes, and to advise, inform and persuade industry and government on what is required to produce successful IT enabled projects.

BCS in the West Midlands
The BCS has a network of over 40 Branches across the UK.
